SASO Water Efficiency Label
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) set on January 1st, 2018 the new water efficiency technical regulations and its Water Efficiency Label for a number of sanitary products and water flow control equipment based on the rates of water efficiency consumption.
The Water Efficiency Label is owned and issued by SASO, and it includes product details specified by SASO, it must be affixed on all imported or locally manufactured products intended to be placed in the market of Saudi Arabia Kingdom.
The importance of the Water Efficiency Label
SASO enforced the Water Efficiency Label to be required to obtain the SASO Certificate of Conformity for the products that fall within the scope of the label, which means that no SASO Certificate of Conformity
can be issued for products or equipment unless a SASO Water Efficiency Label is provided.
All Manufacturers, and importers, are obliged to label their products if they fall within the Water Efficiency Label scope in accordance with the SASO Water Efficiency Labeling program before shipping the products, so they can clear them at the Saudi customs ports and access the market.
Purpose of the Water Efficiency label
The main aim of enforcing the Water Efficiency label is to preserve water resources and reduce water costs for the consumer, it also ensures the conformity of the product to the technical regulations and the standards related to the environment and the safety and health of the consumer, in addition to controlling the non-conform sanitary products in the market.

Water Efficiency Label Registration Process
2.If the test proves the compliance of the product the test report is issued.
3.Filling an online application through Water SLS online system to request obtaining the label.
4.The Water Efficiency Label is issued.
Water Efficiency Label license conditions
The SASO Water Efficiency Label license is issued per model, and it is valid for one year.
It can be renewed through Water SLS Online System by submitting a renewal application a month at least before the old label expiration date, the license is renewed when there no proof of the product’s non-conformity during the period of follow-up works.
