The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) was established by the Standard Organisation of Nigeria Act (No 56) of 1971 with the mandate to set the Standards for manufacturing and sale of products, materials, processes, and services among others; to certify and provide assistance in the production of quality of goods and services, and improve measurement accuracies and circulation of information relating to standards.
