Kenya Pre-Verification of Conformity (PVOC) Program
The export of Chinese products not only shows the quality of the products themselves, but also represents our current overall domestic manufacturing capacity. It is a manifestation of technological progress that a product can go abroad while meeting international standards. However, when exporting to other countries, the products must also meet the local quality requirements. The Kenya PVOC certificate was implemented in 2005 for the certification requirements of related products entering the Kenyan customs.
The entry of Chinese products into the Kenyan market requires that the products comply with the verification plan, which is the so-called PVOC certification, and in the catalog of certification regulations, these products must obtain the corresponding certificate of compliance before shipment, and after entering the Kenyan customs, go through Customs certification can only be approved for entry if it meets the corresponding inspection standards, otherwise the product will be refused entry, and the manufacturer may face certain fines.
So is there have any good way to applicate Kenya PVOC Certificate?
- One-time customs clearance
Exporters can choose a one-time customs clearance certificate, that is to say, the manufacturer conducts product testing in an authoritative organization. The testing cycle is about 1-2 weeks, and the application for a customs clearance certificate takes 3-5 working days, plus half a day. After the inspection time, you can directly apply for customs clearance.
- Register first and then clear customs
This process adds a certain amount of customs clearance time, because the time required for product testing is 1-2 weeks, plus the time for applying for a registration certificate is 1-2 weeks, and then it is 3-5 days for applying for a customs clearance certificate, plus In addition to the half-day inspection time originally required, the overall customs clearance process will be extended.
- Formal approval certificate
The so-called form approval certificate is based on increasing the factory inspection. If the first shipment will increase the strictness of inspection, but after that, random inspection will be carried out in an irregular manner. Overall it takes less time.
Therefore, for Chinese exporters, one of the steps that needs to be followed in the application of Kenya PVOC certificates is to test the products, and they need to meet the certification before they can enter the market. So finding a reliable certification body is the first thing to do.
